Osteopathy is not covered by medicare unless you have a chronic disease management plan. However, this requires a referral from your GP.
A chronic disease management plan is issued by a General Practitioner and allows patients up to 5 visits over a 12 months period with an Osteopath at a subsidised rate.
To receive the rebate you must first pay the standard consultation fee, then the medicare rebate will be processed and deposited into your chosen bank account.
